                          Section 6. Pitching Rules

       6-1:  A Legal Pitch to include Step Back Rule:
             –Prior to starting the delivery of the pitch, the pitcher must take a
             position with pivot foot on the rubber and non-pivot foot either
             toeing the back of the rubber or slightly behind the rubber, hands
             down by her side; ball in hand
             –Prior to the pitch, she will take a small step backward with
             her non-pivot foot while bringing her hands together.

             -Once hands are together, she will begin her step forward
             with her non-pivot foot and start her delivery.

             –the backward step will begin before the hands come
             together. The backward step may end before or after the
             hands come together.

             –The Pitcher can also “Start Back”  if she chooses. Per NCAA
             guidelines
             1. Prior to pitching, the pitcher must take a position with
             shoulders in line with first and third base with the ball in the
             glove or pitching hand and the hands separated.
             2. Pitcher  must  take  or  simulate  taking  signs  while  on  the
             rubber from the catcher only.
             3. After completing “2” above, the pitcher shall bring her hands
             together in front of the body for not less than one second and
             not more than 10 seconds before she releases the ball.

             4. The pitcher shall not be considered in the pitching position
             unless the catcher is within the lines of the catcher’s box and
             ready to receive the pitch.
             6. The pitcher may remove herself from the pitching position
             By stepping both feet away from pitcher’s plate. (Before hands
             come together).
